Steamroller Technologies Debuts Spooky Exhibit At IAAPA

Thrill-seekers, theme park execs, amusement park buyers, and hundreds of exhibitors made their way to Orlando to attend the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) this past November. Steamroller Technologies was there and more than excited to debut a tradeshow exhibit like none other.

Nearly two years in the making, the team at Steamroller Technologies set out to immerse IAAPA guests in an interactive world where reality meets the supernatural. The Haunting of Olivia was designed, prototyped, fabricated, programmed, animated, and finely tuned to provide IAAPA guests with a spooky experience that they will never forget.

Utilizing custom-designed, 3D printed, and programmable lighting, motion platform technology, augmented reality, and a variety of supernatural extra effects within the physical and virtual world, guests entered a haunted mansion, buckled in, and encountered Olivia, a specter who is not yet ready to depart her estate.

Co-Founder and CTO Phil Bias is excited to see this project come to life, “The Haunting Of Olivia pulls out all of the stops to immerse guests into this world of reality and augmented reality. Our team did an exceptional job from the storyline to the fabrication, the programming, lighting, animation, and motion. We know that IAAPA attendees will absolutely love this experience.”

Keith Lackey, CEO & Co-Founder discusses the build and the journey, “This project has become a labor of love. We were sidelined when the pandemic basically shut down conferences and gatherings, so we had to regroup and retool. The Steamroller Technologies team, a resilient bunch, dug in and decided that we had the time to make this project even more over the top than originally designed. This team has created an unforgettable experience, and I’m so proud of our accomplishments.”
